Population based risk factors and use of health services for fracture

Project aim(s):

  • To investigate potentially modifiable factors influencing fracture risk in the 45 and Up Study. This includes investigating:
  • The relationship between fracture risk and lifestyle, demographic and baseline health factors.
  • Patterns of fracture occurrence and use of health services following fracture including procedures performed and length of stay.
  • Sun exposure and possible confounding factors with fracture including physical activity, frailty, cormorbidities and diet.
  • Pharmaceutical agents and fracture, including bisphosphonates and hormonal contraceptives
