Multifactorial Predictors of Positive Ageing: A Biopsychosocial Model of Longevity
Investigators:
Allison Abendorth, Daniel Chan, Damian Holsinger, Frances Kay-Lambkin, C Raina MacIntyre, Robyn Richmond (PI), Qing Shen, Kay Wilhelm
Project aim(s):
Traditionally, approaches to ageing have focussed on impairment, disability and disease, with ageing conceptualised as an inevitable and natural decline in function and quality of life. Through this study, the investigators aim to learn not how to live until 100, but how to maximise the potential of the years people have, so that they might live most of their lives in good health, and compress their morbidity into a short period at the end.
