Investigating best practice primary care for older Australians with diabetes using data linkage

Project aim(s):
The primary aim of this research is to investigate processes of primary care for older people with diabetes, identify the predictors of access to ‘best practice’ primary care, and explore the relationship of best practice and health outcomes including quality of life and hospitalisation. Secondary aims of the project include validating processes of care, assessing the extent to which primary care confirms with current best practice criteria, and comparing health service use for people with and without diabetes.
