Investigators:
Elizabeth Comino (PI), Jeff Flack, Mark Harris, Marion Haas, Bin Jalaludin, Louisa Jorm, Gawaine Powell Davies, Kris Rogers
Project aim(s):
- to investigate processes of primary care provision for older people with diabetes;
- to identify the predictors of provision of primary health care (best practice or worse); and
- to explore the relationship between primary health care (best practice or worse) and measures of health outcomes including quality of life and hospitalisation.
The aims of the supplementary survey are to:
- validate self-report of diabetes and risk factors for diabetes reported during completion of the baseline questionnaire, completed during enrolment in the 45 and Up Study,
- collect additional information on health status, treatment and management of diabetes and other relevant questions, including the 45 and Up compulsory questions
- identify usual sources of diabetes related health care and management of diabetes, and
- compare self-report of care provision with care provision measured through the administrative data collections and undertake sensitivity analyses.
