6th Annual Collaborators' Meeting

The annual 45 and Up Study Collaborators’ Meeting was held on Friday 25th of September 2009, at Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh, Sydney.

The Collaborators’ Meeting offers our research partners, supporters and interested parties the opportunity to receive a comprehensive update on the progress of the Study. Attendees were given opportunities to engage with other researchers, policy makers and evaluators to discuss potential for maximising the value of the Study resource. The day also included a targeted activity on policy-relevant research, cancer, cardiovascular disease and mental health.

Professor John Powles from Cambridge University delivered the day’s keynote address. He is recognised for his wide ranging work in epidemiology and public health, including health risk transitions in middle and high income countries, public health assessment and public health policy. Professor Powles presented on how scientific evidence changes population behaviour and risk.

A report from the day will be available soon.
